MAKING DECORATIVE OBJECTS FROM PAPER PULP

Explore the creative possibilities of reusing paper. Learn techniques for making and shaping paper pulp to form your own decorative objects like vases, bowls or other sculptural pieces. Experiment with the paper pulp, adding pigment to colour and decoration techniques. Develop your own designs using simply-shaped found objects as moulds to create a range of individual pieces.

About the course:
The course will start with an introduction about paper pulp and how artists use it today. It will then quickly move into the practical side of making: Making pulp of paper, preparing the paper pulp, experimenting with paper pulp and decoration techniques on basic shapes, preparing the moulds, making the final paper pulp objects and finishing the objects.

Duration:
The course consists 3 sessions, 16 hours in total.

Course fee:
€399,- p.p. // This is including materials*, coffee or tea and a snack.

*The course fee includes the cost of a range of materials, supplied by Debbie Wijskamp, shared amongst the group including: glue, plastic film, plastic tape, vaseline, sandpaper, readymade paper pulp, and paint. You can use the materials and tools available in the workshop. Feel free to bring your own. Participants are asked to bring their own objects which you will use as a mould, for example secondhand vases, bowls, etcetera.
